Frequently Asked Questions for Buyers
- How do I order?
Market Mobile works through an online order form. To start, create an account or login. If you don't see the Order Form, displaying each local producer’s lists of available items, then click on “Market Mobile” link. Farmers update their Price Lists each week, prior to the order day.
- When do I order?
There are two order days. You can make changes anytime on order day.
- Mondays from 12:00 am to 11:59 pm for delivery on Thursdays
- Thursdays from 12:00 am to 11:59 pm for delivery on Tuesdays
For deliveries in RI, there is a $100 minimum. There is a $150 minimum for deliveries to Boston and the Rt. 128 corridor, and $60 minimum for pick-up in Pawtucket.
A small service charge is added, proportional to how close the order is to the minimum. For example, orders $30 below the minimum would incur a $4.80 fee and orders $4 below would incur a 72¢ fee.
The Order Form is organized by farm name. To find a specific item, use the “find” feature on your web browser. It's command-F on Macs and control-F on PCs.
Certain meat producers list pieces by the pound, rather than by the unit. Weights available (by cut piece) are listed in the Comment section. Please add up the total poundage of your order and enter it in the Qty box based on the available pieces.
Late additions to your purchase may be possible the morning following order day before 10 am. Call the office at (401) 312-4250 to discuss revising your order.
We have a Seasonal Planner containing information about what items will be available at the beginning and end of each month. The tab is located to the right of the Order tab. The information is based on prior years' Market Mobile availability.
Delivery & Payment
- When will I receive my delivery?
Orders placed on Monday will be delivered on Thursdays between 8 am and 5 pm.
Orders placed on Thursday will be delivered on Tuesdays between 8 am and 5 pm. Sometimes deliveries may be earlier or later than this time frame. If you have special delivery requests, please include them on your Prefs page under “Delivery Notes”, and we will make every effort to accommodate your needs.
- Where do I pick up?
Pick-up orders are available on delivery day at noon at the Market Mobile warehouse in room 2235 at the Hope Artiste Village at 1005 Main St, Pawtucket, RI.
- What if there is a problem when I receive my order?
Please review the invoice when the driver delivers and note missing items or quality issues. You must notify us of any quality issues within 24 hours of delivery. You are responsible for purchasing what you have ordered unless there is a quality issue. Please review your online order confirmation the day after ordering (always available in your Purchase History) to ensure it is correct.
- How do I get my bill?
You will receive an email linking to your order invoice the morning after ordering day, and a hard copy of your invoice accompanying your delivery. In addition, all of your order invoices are always available in your Purchase History. Please notify us of an accounts payable contact name, if you have one.
- When is payment due?
If you are a new customer to Market Mobile, we request payment COD. Our drivers will gladly accept checks and money orders when they deliver. For established customers, with a history of on-time payments, our standard terms are net 20. To be eligible for these terms you must record 8 consecutive COD transactions and complete our credit application. (You can submit your credit application as soon as you like, but terms will not be extended until after 8 consecutive orders have been completed). If you are sending checks or returning completed credit applications, our mailing address is 1005 Main Street #1220 Pawtucket, RI 02860. We write checks to farmers within 10-15 days, regardless of when we receive your payment, so we are very appreciative of prompt payers. If you have any questions, just email Paula.
