Atkins Farms is a unique country market where old-time customer service is an every day treat. Atkins offers quality, locally grown produce - including their own apples, peaches and pears - in addition to specialty foods, fresh from scratch baked goods, a delicatessen, fresh meats & seafood, local beers & wines, and much more. Amherst, MA - Atkins Farms is known for old time customer service, and long-standing, friendly and dedicated employees. Atkins’ famous cider donuts and fresh local produce are customer favorites.
Atkins Farms’ cider donuts were recently named by Saveur.com as one of the top 12 in the country, and the only cider donut on the list. Saveur’s article stated in part, “Infused with Atkins’ own apple cider, a blend of seasonal apple varieties like McIntosh and Cortland, and made by hand daily; the moist, sweet, slightly spicy treats are liberally rolled in a cinnamon–sugar mixture. Atkins has been using the same doughnut recipe since 1971 and turns out 10,000 doughnuts per day during the fall, its busiest season.”
The Atkins bakery also features old-fashioned made from scratch pies, with a flaky golden, tasty crust and filled with tart-sweet flavorful apples.
Stop by the deli for delicious homemade soups, salads, side dishes and sandwiches, as well as lunch and dinner entrees.
Atkins is the home to the first meal assembly kitchen in the Pioneer Valley; Atkins Savory Suppers, where you can prepare a month’s worth of healthy and flavorful meals to take home.
The sushi chef produces hot and cold delicacies seven days a week. The cheese display features a wide selection of locally-produced artisan cheese, as well as domestic and international favorites.
The meat and seafood department features an excellent variety, including Certified Angus Beef and fresh roasted rotisserie chicken, as well as recipes and cooking suggestions. The specialty foods department will tempt you with fresh homemade fudge, delectable candies and chocolates, gourmet coffees and teas, and international favorites.
You can order flowers to be delivered nationwide through Atkins’ full-service flower department, as well as complement your wedding with flowers, or order a simple arrangement or corsage. The gift shop will fill your need for almost any gift giving occasion, and you can also choose from a wide selection of fruit and gift baskets.
Come by Atkins Farms’ Orchard Run Ice Cream Shop for a taste of their “cream of the crop” soft serve, gourmet ice cream, sundaes, shakes, hot dogs, and more.
Any season of the year, you will find something happening at Atkins. In the fall, you can pick your own apples or make a scarecrow at our weekend workshops. Gingerbread House Workshops and Santa’s visits add gaiety to holiday preparations, and nostalgic winter sleigh rides bring back memories of the past. Hundreds of excited children arrive for the spring Easter Egg Hunt. Summer brings farm tours, barbeques, Children’s Day, Cruise Nights Classic Car Shows, Customer Appreciation Week, the New England Food Sampling Fair and Peach Jubilee when the peaches are picked from the orchard.
Atkins Farm is owned and operated by Pauline Lannon, Harold Gould, David Thornton, and Paul Hodgkins. The farm was founded in 1887 by George Atkins. Atkins Fruit Bowl, Inc. was started by Howard Atkins in 1963.
