A bit about the Hartford / Billings Forge Farmers Market
The historic Billings and Spencer building in Hartford, CT began as a tool forge over one hundred years ago, manufacturing beautiful drop iron wrenches. It has since been converted to apartments and is owned by the Melville Charitable Trust. Billings Forge Community Works, established by the Trust, is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the residents of Billings Forge and starting innovative programming aimed at sparking revitalization and investment in our Frog Hollow neighborhood.

The Farmers Market at Billings Forge was created in 2007 as a seasonal weekly market (April through October) who's aim is to provide the residents of Billings Forge with access to fresh, local food and to serve as a diverse meeting space from which to draw new people and life into the Frog Hollow neighborhood. Located on Broad Street between Capital Avenue and Russ Street, the market is situated on the grass courtyard adjacent to the Firebox Restaurant.

Though every season is unique, we use our Harvest Calendar and information about what each vendor produces to provide a good guess as to what will be available at the market each week. But we don't have details on which farmers come to this market. If you do, let us know.
