Silk Tree Farm in Little Compton, RI
Some of what we grow is available year-round.
Silk Tree Farm is a small farm, located in Little Comptin R.I. We raise Nigerian Dwarf Goats. They provide our family with milk, which we use to make a variety of cheeses. Their milk is also used in our goat milk soap. Our ADGA registered show quality goats are bred for milk production and proper conformation. Our focus is on raising healthy happy animals.
We strive for a sustainable lifestyle, by growing and raising as much of our own food as possible. On our farm you will find a large garden with fruits and vegetables, we have free-range laying hens that provide our customers and ourselves with beautiful large brown eggs. Available Summer 2014 Freedom Ranger Broilers.
We also offer a learning environment for young kids and teens. We are dedicated to providing them with an opportunity to receive a hands on learning experience. We are proud to be currently involved in a Mentoring Program with the Met School in Providence RI. A student visits our farm twice a week. He will learn a wealth of valuable life lessons about farming and where our food comes from. We hope that the knowledge he will obtain here on our farm will encourage him to make healthy choices.
