Community Supported Medicine Shares
Inspired by the model of Community Supported Agriculture, Goldthread offers herbs, spices, and herbal products organically grown on our farm directly to our members. The shares contain herbs and remedies for a host of commonly encountered conditions such as colds, flus, sore throats, coughs, digestive issues, sleep improvement, skin conditions, children’s health, and more.
When you purchase a share, it helps support the work we do growing and processing the herbs into useful natural medicines that nourish the body and enhance vitality. In return, you will receive a variety of herbs that support good health and the health of the environment, while also preserving the agricultural character of our wonderful community.
This year, shares will be divided into three separate pickup dates throughout the growing season in August, September, and October. During the scheduled pickup at the farm in Conway, members will be encouraged to meet the plants that comprise their share and there will be a short educational session about how best to use the herbs provided in that month's share. Also, beginning this year we are tailoring each share to take advantage of what the season brings at the farm (different from previous years where there was a choice structure and only one pick-up.)

A little about Goldthread Organic Herb Farm & Apothecary
Goldthread is an Organic Medicinal Herb Farm nestled on three beautiful acres in the hills of Conway, Massachusetts. It is here that we grow high-quality, organic herbs to supply our Apothecary in Florence and our Herbal Medicine Farm Share.
We cultivate over 50 different medicinal herbs and spices. Each is organically grown and processed with the utmost care and skillfully crafted into vibrant and effective medicines including tinctures, elixirs, tea blends, essential oils, hydrosols, topical care products and more. We also offer bulk herbs & spices (for medicinal and culinary use), seeds & seedlings.
Goldthread was among the first farms in the country to offer Community Supported Medicine Shares, inspired by the CSA model. CSM shares are available in two sizes and include ready-to-use medicines useful for wide variety of common conditions including colds, flus, sore throats, digestive issues, sleep improvement, skin conditions, children’s health and more. Plus, seasonal treats like flavorful tea blends, cooking spices, delicious honeys and every-day necessities like natural bug repellent.
Our farm is also home to an 85-gallon wood fired distiller, and we have teamed up with the California based Floracopeia, Inc. to create a line of high quality, micro-distilled essential oils, created in small batches from the forests and farms of this region. We offer several hands-on distillation classes and essential oils workshops each year.
Educational courses include workshops, year-long internships and work-study programs — students range from hobbyists taking an evening class to doctors and pharmacists broadening their knowledge. Our classes incorporate Chinese, Ayurvedic, & Western herbal traditions, plus plant cultivation and clinical applications.
