A little about Isle Of View
Located on top of a hillside being reclaimed to produce a wide range of vegetables, berries, and herbs on different micro-areas of slope and moisture.
We are working to establish areas of Watercress on the low wet areas. The farm also offers potted Comfrey plants. Our produce includes - Turnip Greens, Kale, Chard, Beets, Turnips, Watermellon, Muskmellon, Rasberry, Blackberry, Blueberry, three colors of Beans, Tomato, Pepper, Eggplant, Brussell Sprouts... and more
We use high quality seeds, grow many heirloom varieties of veggies and work to enhance yields with existing wild berries and herbs. The hillside is cultivated with emphasis on sustainable design techniques with regards to nutrient and water flow.
The farm is run by Adam Steele Zucker, a 24 year old graduate of Hampshire College . Adam concentrated his studies on sustainable agriculture at Hampshire, and has worked on a variety of farms throughout the past six years using methods such as permaculuture, biodynamics, and organic. The practices he uses at the Isle of View are based on a respect for the ecological systems, so the farm describes itself as ecologically grown and chemically free. The farm uses permaculture design principles as beds are designed to direct the flood of water through a recently created stream that includes three beds of watercress.
