A little about Greystones Farm
We keep a flock of about 35 sheep. We specialize in Easter lambs sold wholesale via the FLAME and Northampton co-ops. We also sell the "BaaayState Blanket", a cooperative project. We join with about a dozen Massachusetts shepherds to make these heirloom quality blankets. They are made in Massachusetts from 100% Massachusetts wool. As of this writing I have 3 blankets left, a king, a queen and a twin. I can refer you to another co-op member for other sizes. We also grow about an acre of specialty vegetables that we sell at our seasonal stand at the Millbury/Sutton line on Providence St. We are not organic but do use sustainable methods.
Along with our famous sweet corn, we are one of the few places to buy specialty potatoes, by name, such as Green Mountain, Bintje, Caribe, genuine Cobblers, Huckleberry Gold, Purple Viking, Red Gold, Carola and German Butterball. Buy some lobsters, burgers and hot dogs, and then come to us for sweet corn and tender summer potatoes. Have a memorable feast!!! Our specialty spuds are grown in small quantities, and not every kind is available at any one time. We have been notified by our supplier that there will be NO CARIBE seed potato available for the 2013 season. We are sorry that we will not be able to supply Caribe potatoes this season. Purple Viking (which we will have) is a good substitute.
In 2012, we started selling sweet corn in mid July, and closed just before Labor Day. It was the best corn that we have grown in many years. We sold out many days, and on the last day of our season. Please come again this year. Last update March 10, 2013
