The program offers unlimited vegetables, herbs, fruits, flowers, and full access to our Farm Stand from May through December. With our Flexible-CSA Program, you select the investment level that is best for your family beginning at $300; all memberships are prepaid by May 1st. Goose Pond Farm then adds 10% to your purchase dollar value, and you use those dollars to purchase throughout the season. Example: you decide that $500 is the best level for your family; Goose Pond Farm then increases your value by 10% so you now have $550 to purchase your produce and foods at the farm. 15% is paid for membership levels of $600 or more (and for those who increase their membership to $600 during the season; all CSA members receive periodic statements for their balance. Using best agricultural practices and organic farming methods, we offer fresh vegetables, herbs, and other produce throughout the summer growing season. Members of Casey Farm's Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program receive a mix of fresh organic vegetables, fruits, herbs, and pick-your-own items weekly through the season. A CSA share feeds one to four people. The cost is $600 for the 20-week season. CSA Shares: A share includes: Once-a-week distribution of fresh vegetables, fruits in season, and herbs. Pick-your-own produce, fresh flowers, and extras when available. Opportunity to buy maple syrup, honey and eggs when available. Newsletter throughout the season and a one-year Historic New England membership. Sample Weekly Shares: June & July Pick-your-own berries; one or two heads of lettuce; basil, spring garlic, garlic scapes, scallions, and summer onions; mixed greens (e.g.spinach, arugula, swiss chard); a choice of mixed vegetables such as turnips, radishes, beets and carrots. Late July may offer a choice of summer squash, zucchini, and cucumbers. September & October: Pick-your-own cherry tomatoes and green beans; one pound of salad greens; a choice of mixed vegetables such as peppers, eggplant, broccoli, carrots, and cabbage; heirloom and red slicing tomatoes; garlic. October may offer sweet potatoes and winter squash. CSA members pick up their share of produce/fruit on either Tuesdays 3 to 6:30 p.m. or Fridays 3 to 6 p.m. in our share barn. What is CSA?
Community Supported Agriculture, often shortened to CSA, is a prepaid subscription to a farm's produce for the season. Most CSAs give shareholders a weekly supply of veggies, herbs, fruits and sometimes even eggs and meat. You know it's fresh and you get to meet the farm and people who grew your food! The prepaid CSA arrangements also makes it a source of financial security for the farmer. Some CSAs also incorporate farm workdays for shareholders. Pickup days vary by farm and some offer pickups in Providence.CSAs have been very popular recently. Be sure to sign up early before subscriptions are filled!
