Contact the farm for details Purchase a share of our farm’s harvest in the spring and get a basket of fresh produce direct from our farm every week during the harvest season. This helps us by covering some of our start-up costs like seed, fertilizer, and labor. You will also be supporting local agriculture and helping to preserve open space in Rhode Island. In these days of concern about food safety and the use of fossil fuels in food transport, you will have the peace of mind of knowing where your food is grown and who grew it. If you have children, they will be more connected to their food and realize that a tomato doesn’t come from the grocery store; it comes from a farm. Share options: Full Share (feeds 3 to 6 people) • Between 10 and 30 pounds of produce a week for 19 weeks Single Share (feeds 1 to 3 people) • Between 6 and 20 pounds of produce a week for 19 weeks A sample of what produce to expect In June, a single share may get in a week: • bag of lettuce or spring mix • 1 pound zucchini and yellow squash • ¾ pound sweet peas • 1 bunch baby turnips or beets • 1 bunch radishes • ½ pound green onions • 1 bunch broccoli • 1 head cabbage or kale In September, a single share may get in a week: • ½ dozen sweet corn • 1 ½ pounds tomatoes • 1 or 2 cucumbers • 2-3 red or green peppers • 1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes • 1-2 eggplant • 1 native muskmelon or cantelope • in-season fruit (e.g., pears, peaches) Pick-Up You will be expected to pick up your produce at our farm stand at 364 Boyds Lane, Portsmouth, RI (just off Rte. 24), on Thursdays or Fridays between 4 and 6:45 p.m. You must choose one pick-up day for the whole season.

What is CSA?
Community Supported Agriculture, often shortened to CSA, is a prepaid subscription to a farm's produce for the season. Most CSAs give shareholders a weekly supply of veggies, herbs, fruits and sometimes even eggs and meat. You know it's fresh and you get to meet the farm and people who grew your food! The prepaid CSA arrangements also makes it a source of financial security for the farmer. Some CSAs also incorporate farm workdays for shareholders. Pickup days vary by farm and some offer pickups in Providence.

CSAs have been very popular recently. Be sure to sign up early before subscriptions are filled!
