Our 2010 shares include a Spring, Main Season (2 options), and a u-pick flower share. The Main Season Share is a 20-week share. The share begins the week of June 14 ends October 25. Each shareholder arrives at the farm on their pick-up day-Monday, Tuesday or Thursday. Cost is $650 ($625 paid by check). Every Other Week Share: Every Other Week Share will begin on Monday, June 14, and runs every other week until Thursday, October 18 . This share size is most appropriate for those on the go, singles, couples, and small families. "Every Other Week" members can expect to get the same exact 10-12 items as the Full Share. An "Every Other Week Share" will cost $380 for the season ($365 paid by check). Spring Shares The Spring Share is a U-Pick Share. Over the course of six weeks, beginning the week of May 3rd, you can pick organic salad greens mixes, saute mixes, spinach, bok choy, arugula, turnips, radishes, lettuce. tatosi, scallions and garlic scapes. Because Spring Crops are so perishable, we encourage Spring shareholders to pick there own whenever needed. You must have a Main Season or Every Other Week Share to purchase a Spring Share. The cost is $104 ($100 if paid by check) in addition to your main share. All shareholders can enjoy the Pick-Your-Own Option on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday during pick-up hours, or on Sunday mornings from 9:00 to noon. The Pick-Your-Own option is at no additional cost to you. 2011 Langwater Farm CSA registration is open! To register visit our website at http://langwaterfarm.com/find-our-produce/join-our-csa/ CSA pickups will be on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. We have a number of options this year. Full Season CSA: Weekly pickups of our own Certified Organic produce will start the last week of May and go through the end of October (24 weeks). Each week you’ll get a variety of 5-10 different veggies, averaging about $30 worth of produce per week. The variety and quantity will change according to the season. Choose from a whole share for $625 or a half share for $350. Farmstand CSA: A more flexible option: $350 gets you $400 worth of produce, redeemable whenever the farmstand is open all season long. You choose what veggies you like and when you want them. Flower CSA: Ten weeks of beautiful bouquets from July to mid September for $100. Winter CSA: For the devoted locavore, the winter CSA will run November-December for $175, including lots of greens, roots, and winter squash and averaging $20-$25 worth of produce each week. For the winter CSA we may supplement our own veggies with organic produce from other local farms. All members will receive a weekly newsletter with farm updates and recipes, plus invitations to volunteer days and any other farm events. Primary communication will be via email. |

Shared Harvest is a Community Supported Agriculture program. We are a multi-farm, extended season partnership between local, small-scale farmers and people who value high-quality and sustainably grown food. Our primary vegetable growers are Picadilly Farm and Riverland Farm, both are certified organic. Busa Farm and Brookwood Community Farms grow a small number of leafy greens for the share. Cider Hill Farm grows our apples (IPM) and Charley Baer provides our dried beans (IPM). Produce for Shared Harvest CSA is grown within 100 miles of where you will pick it up. What is CSA?
Community Supported Agriculture, often shortened to CSA, is a prepaid subscription to a farm's produce for the season. Most CSAs give shareholders a weekly supply of veggies, herbs, fruits and sometimes even eggs and meat. You know it's fresh and you get to meet the farm and people who grew your food! The prepaid CSA arrangements also makes it a source of financial security for the farmer. Some CSAs also incorporate farm workdays for shareholders. Pickup days vary by farm and some offer pickups in Providence.CSAs have been very popular recently. Be sure to sign up early before subscriptions are filled!
