| Siena Farms
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a collaboration between farmers and their customers to create an organic, season-long culinary experience. The pre-season CSA income enables the farm to cover the upfront costs of the growing season (seeds, supplies, labor, etc.) before the harvest begins in early summer. Your weekly half-bushel CSA box will contain a delicious variety of specialty vegetables fresh from Siena Farms' fields through the 2012 harvest season. The following Farm Share options are now available for our 2012 season. | Stow Greenhouses
Stow Greenhouses is excited to introduce our Flower CSA at $300 per share. Members will receive a gorgeous cut-flower bouquet each week, featuring unique seasonal perennials and annuals made from the fresh flowers we grow including lilies (our specialty), sunflowers, lisianthus, celosia, gomphrena, marigolds, statice, zinnias, calla lilies, lupine, nigella, daisies, black-eyed susans, sea holly, sweet peas, tuberose, asters and dahlias to name a few. The CSA will run from mid-June through mid-October (18 weeks). The first bouquet will be delivered in a mason jar to be re-used throughout the season. Share pick-ups are at the greenhouse on Wednesdays. Delivery to your home or business is available for an additional fee of $100 for the season. |

Regular Share (June-October, 21 weeks, $650). This is our standard CSA share. You can expect over thirty kinds of vegetables, everything from tomatoes and green beans to kohlrabi and rutabaga. What you get varies from week to week, depending on the season, but it will usually be 6-12 different items. We strive to provide a balance of different kinds of vegetables: salad greens, cooking greens, long-lasting roots, and tender fruits (squash, tomatoes, peppers). The share is ~10lbs/week (depending on the season), enough food for two veggie-loving adults or a small family. Extended Share (June-November, 25 weeks, $750). Regular share + four more weeks. Eat local through Thanksgiving! You can expect lots of great fall produce: primarily greens (kale, arugula, lettuce, etc.), roots, and other storage crops like onions and potatoes. Flower Share (mid-June through mid-September, 10 weeks, $120). For the first time, we are offering our very own flower share. Each week, you will get a beautiful, freshly arranged bouquet. Flowers vary throughout the season, but you can expect to take home celosia, zinnias, dahlias, snapdragons, and more. It is a great way to bring a little bit of summer into the house! |

What is CSA?
Community Supported Agriculture, often shortened to CSA, is a prepaid subscription to a farm's produce for the season. Most CSAs give shareholders a weekly supply of veggies, herbs, fruits and sometimes even eggs and meat. You know it's fresh and you get to meet the farm and people who grew your food! The prepaid CSA arrangements also makes it a source of financial security for the farmer. Some CSAs also incorporate farm workdays for shareholders.
